There will be no postseason for the UL Men's Basketball team. The team has declined an invitation to participate in the 2017 CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

The following statement is from UL head coach Bob Marlin:

After consulting earlier today with our University administration, (Director of Athletics) Bryan Maggard and Athletic Trainer BJ Duplantis, I have decided to decline our invitation to participate in the 2017 CollegeInsider.com Tournament

There is good reason for the invite decline. Senior guard Jay Wright injured his ankle in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament while center Bryce Washington is getting shut down for rest.

Coach Marlin went on to say that while they appreciate the opportunity to be rewarded for another 20-win season, it was the right thing to do for the welfare of the student-athletes.

"Dr. Maggard and our administration support our decision. We are beginning our preparation for the 2017-18 season and are excited about the future of our program," said Marlin.
