Samantha Walsh belted a walk-off home run to help lift the 17th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team to a 5-4 non-conference win over the McNeese St. Cowgirls on Wednesday night at Lamson Park.

The win gives Louisiana 23 wins in their last 25 games.

Walsh and Lexie Elkins each had two hits, along with homers, and two runs batted in, to lead UL at the plate.

Christina Hamilton (16-1) recorded the win for the Cajuns, allowing seven hits and two earned runs, while Jamie Allred (19-6) suffered the loss in relief for McNeese St., as she allowed the game-winning homer to Walsh, who led off the bottom of the 7th inning.

With the win, Louisiana improved to 31-7-1 on the season, while the Cowgirls fell to 30-12.

The Cajuns return to action on Friday, taking on Troy in a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader in Troy, Alabama.
