Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team opens up the fall portion of their 2013-14 schedule  on Sunday, when they play host to the USSSA Pride of the National Professional Fastpitch league.

The Pride, who is coming off of a championship season in the NPF, features some of the top softball players in the world, with a roster that includes Chelsea Thomas (Missouri), Nikia Williams (Washington), Megan Willis (Texas), Jenn Salling (Washington), Cat Osterman (Texas), Francesca Enea (Florida), Ashley Charters (Washington), Kelly Kretschman (Alabama), Blaire Luna (Texas), Jordan Taylor (Michigan), Jessica Shults (Oklahoma), Kristyn Sandberg (Georgia), Sarah Pauly (A&M-Corpus Christi), Caitlin Lowe (Arizona), Andrea Duran (UCLA), Natasha Watley (UCLA), Rachele Fico (LSU), GiOna DiSalvatore (UCLA), Lauren Lappin (Stanford), Keilani Ricketts (Oklahoma) and Haruna Sakamoto (Japanese National Team).

Osterman, Lowe, and Watley were members of the 2008 United States Olympic team.

Louisiana appeared in an NCAA Super Regional for the second-consecutive year last season, finishing with an overall record of 47-15. That Super Regional appearance was also their third in the last four years, and their fourth in the last six years.

The match-up will be the first of six home games in the fall for the Cajuns. They will also play host to LSU-Alexandria (Oct. 12), Lamar (Oct. 13), Galveston College (Oct. 19), and LSU_Eunice (Oct. 23), before closing out the home portion of the fall schedule with an Alumni Game on November 9.

Road games on the fall schedule include October 5 against UTSA and Baylor, in Houston, and October 25 at McNeese St.

The Cajundome Ticket Office will have extended hours this week in preparation for the UL/USSSA Pride game, staying open until 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, as well as 9-5 hours on Saturday.

Tickets can also be purchased the day of the game at the Lamson Park Box Office, which will open at 1 p.m.
