Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns softball team is up one spot, to number six, in the latest USA Today/NFCA Top 25 coaches poll, which was released on Tuesday.

Louisiana won 3 of their 4 games in the 30th Louisiana Classics at Lamson Park over the weekend, defeating Oregon in two of the three meetings between the two, as well as Central Arkansas.

The Cajuns play six times this week, all at home, including a doubleheader against Texas Tech on Thursday, and two games apiece, against Rutgers and Alcorn St., in the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational.

The Florida Gators, who are a perfect 11-0 on the season, remain the top team in the poll.

Louisiana will travel to Gainesville, Florida to take on the Gators in a three-game series, April 16-17.

Michigan is ranked second this week, followed by Auburn at number three, Alabama in the four spot, and LSU fifth.

Florida was a unanimous number one selections, receiving all 32 first-place votes.

Louisiana, who is 8-1 on the young season, is ranked sixth, followed Oregon, Washington, Georgia, and James Madison at 7-10, respectively.

The second tem this week consists of UCLA, Oklahoma, Florida St., Tennessee, and Arizona in spots 11-15, with Texas A&M, Missouri, Kentucky, Arizona St. and Fresno St. in the 16-20 positions.

Finally, at 21-25 this week, it’s Minnesota, UCF, Notre Dame, Texas, and California.
