Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun softball team is up, one spot, to number five, in this week’s college softball RPI (Rating Performance Index) rankings, released by the NCAA on Monday.

Louisiana, who has won and 30 of their last 32 games, and have clinched their 11th Sun Belt Conference regular season championship in the last 13 years, currently stands at 38-7-1 on the season, and will return to action this weekend, when they host the ULM Warhawks in their final three regular season games.

Two schools from the SEC, Florida and Alabama are ranked 1-2, with UCLA, Georgia, and Louisiana rounding out the top five.

Oregon is number six, followed by Missouri, Florida St., Arizona, and Oklahoma at 7-10, respectively.

Tennessee begins the second ten, with Arizona St., Baylor, Kentucky, and Michigan in spots 12-15.

At 16-20, it’s Auburn, South Alabama, Minnesota, Nebraska, and LSU.

Washington, Texas A&M, James Madison, Tulsa, and UCF round out the top 25 of this week’s RPI rankings.

The respective RPI’s for the eight Sun Belt Conference schools has Louisiana (5th overall) first, with South Alabama (17th overall) second, followed  by Georgia St. (59th overall), WKU (70th overall), Troy (99th overall), Texas St. (100th overall), UT-Arlington (121st overall), and ULM (153rd overall).
