Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team dropped their 2012-2013 Sun Belt Conference opener on Saturday, as they fell to the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders, 72-45, at Earl K. Long Gym.

Middle Tennessee led the game, 41-22, at the half, and then coasted to the 27-point victory.

The Blue Raiders were able to out-shoot Louisiana from the field, 46%-33%, and were also able to force 36 Cajun turnovers.

Ebony Rowe led Middle Tennessee with a game-high 21 points, along with eight rebounds, while Kia Wilridge paced Louisiana in a losing cause, with 14 points.

With the win, Middle Tennessee improved to 4-1 overall, and 1-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while the Cajuns fell to 2-3 overall, and 0-1 in league play.

The UL women return to action on Wednesday evening, when they host Southern-New Orleans, in non-conference action at Earl K. Long Gym.
