Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball team fell at home in  Sun Belt Conference action on Wednesday night, dropping a 65-53 decision to the Texas St. Bobcats at the Cajundome.

Texas St. led at halftime, 29-27, despite the fact that UL's Sylvana Okde hit four three-pointers, and scored 12 first half points.

Texas St. out-shot Louisiana from the floor in the first half, 52%-34%, while the Cajuns ended the first 20 minutes with a 17-16 rebound advantage.

The Bobcats went on to outscore the Cajuns in the second half, 36-26, to secure the 12-point win, and put an end to Louisiana's four-game win streak.

The Bobcats wound up out-shooting the Cajuns from the floor for the game, 55%-38%, and also finished with a 34-25 rebounding edge, including an 18-8 rebound advantage in the second half alone.

Texas St. was led by Ashley Ezeh, who scored 16 points, with 9 rebounds, while Erin People chipped in with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

In a losing cause for Louisiana, Sylvana Okde scored 15 points, while Keke Veal scored 13, and Brooklyn Arceneaux contributed 12..

With the victory, Texas St. improved to 5-9, overall, and 2-1 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Louisiana dropped to 8-5, overall, and 1-1 in league play.

The Cajuns return to action on Saturday afternoon, when they UT-Arlington in Sun Belt Conference play at the Cajundome.
