The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be demolishing two dormitories and some adjacent buildings so that a park garage can be built.

Stokes Hall and an adjacent building will be torn down to make way for some temporary parking while a new parking garage will be constructed.

The total price tag for the parking garage is expected to be near $100,000.

The dorms that will be demolished were built in the late 60's, and they have not been used for student housing for the last several years due to the fact that they needed renovations.
