The St. Landry-Evangeline United Way is asking local communities to help provide school supplies by coming out to “Stuff the Bus” with donations. In addition to raising supplies for students, the drive also raises supplies for teachers and classrooms as well. Supplies needed include but are not limited to backpacks, crayons, calculators, paper towels, scissors, binders, folders, markers, pencils, pens, hand sanitizer, rulers, paper and glue sticks. Walmart gift cards and cash donations would also be appreciated.

The Eunice Winn Dixie will be a donation site, as well as Donald Gardner Stadium in Opelousas, the United Way office in Opelousas and Ville Platte City Hall. There will be a yellow school bus at each donation site with a “Stuff the Bus” banner.

Donations will be collected Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., except at the United Way office and Ville Platte City Hall, when donations will be taken during normal business hours. There are also different locations and times for other Acadiana parishes, which you can check out HERE

Let's help out, ya'll!
