Another pertinent and pivotal piece of the puzzle has fallen into place for Carrie Underwood's 'The Sound of Music.' The powers-that-be at the NBC production, which will air live on Dec. 5, have cast the von Trapp children.

A nationwide search was conducted for actors and actresses to fill out the brood of seven.

The children who won the sought after roles of the von Trapp kids are as follows: Ariane Rinehart (Liesl); Michael Nigro (Fredrich); Ella Watts-Gorman (Louisa); Joe West (Kurt); Sophia Caruso (Brigitta); Grace Rundhaug (Marta); and Peyton Ella as Gretl.

Underwood, who is playing the lead role of Maria, posed with the her new castmates. What a handsome bunch, with Underwood and her dynamite smile as the centerpiece of the image.

'True Blood' star Stephen Moyer will play Captain von Trapp, rounding out the key cast.

Other details about the production have been revealed, such as the fact that it will stage in Long Island, as opposed to NYC proper. Everything will be live, including any possible mistakes, which will not be edited out.
