When James Leininger was around 2-years-old, he started saying things to his parents they couldn't understand. James would say things like "Airplane crash, plane on fire, little man can't get out." He also told his parents "his" plane was shot down by the Japanese. James' parents were not tied to the military in any way, didn't have any sort of military pictures or decor around the house, so they were completely puzzled at where this sort of rhetoric could be coming from. That's when things got even stranger.

James told his parents his boat was called the Natoma and he remembered the name "Jack Larsen". When his parents got a WW II book, they sat down with James to have him look at it. The two-year-old pointed at a picture of Iwo Jima in the Pacific Ocean, and said that was where his plane was shot down.

James' father investigated, and found that just one pilot died during the battle of Iwo Jima, and his name was James M Huston Jr.

What's interesting about this is little James would constantly draw pictures of military airplanes and sign them "James 3". When his parents asked him why he was putting a three on his name, he told them "Because I'm the third".

Huston's plane was shot down on March 3rd, 1945, while he was on his 50th mission. This was Huston's last mission before he was due to go home.

A best selling book has been released about James called "Soul Survivor".

This story isn't new, it first surfaced about nine years ago, but I hadn't heard about until today.
