This seems to be a topic of discussion around this time every year. When should stores start putting out their Christmas stuff?

We begin having this conversation earlier and earlier as there are some stores that are already in full-blown holiday mode. To heck with Halloween and Thanksgiving they say!

So when is the right time for stores to put out their holiday decor? Or rather, when do you think is the appropriate time for Christmas stuff to be sold in stores?

A new survey asked people when stores should start putting out their holiday stuff. And here are the results:

  1. 3% say Labor Day
  2. 7% say right now, the end of September
  3. 21% say right around Halloween
  4. 52% say Thanksgiving
  5. 12% want them to wait until mid-December

Another interesting find from the survey is that about one million Americans say they're already done with their Christmas shopping. (How many guys do you think are in that number?)

But, 54% of people won't be done until sometime in December.
