Oddly enough some of you will read the headline on this story and run immediately to your dog and smell his feet. I am hoping your dog is an inside dog and does not make a habit of walking around in his own poo. If he or she is an inside pooch you will find a striking similarity between the odor of your dog's feet and the smell of a well known corn chip.

I have to admit I thought I was crazy even thinking about connecting Fritos brand corn chips and the feet of a dog. But the other day as I was trying to take a nap on the couch and my dog,Cotton, the world's dumbest dog, was sleeping on the pillow next to me.

Since I was the only one home Cotton decided to be friendly and come hang out with me. In the course of napping both he and I rolled around a little bit and I woke up with one his paws next to my nose. That's when it hit me, "This dog's feet smell like Fritos!"

I thought I would do some snooping on the internet.Believe it or not there is a scientific reason why my pup and maybe your pup's paws smell like corn chips. The answer it is a bacteria that causes the condition that is known as "Frito Feet". That's right it's actually a thing.

The good news is it's not a serious condition but it could become one. So as you're sniffing your dog's feet, check out his or her pads for cracks, sores, or other issues that could mean a more serious infection. If you see something like that it's time to head to your local vet for a check up.
