Here on the Bruce and the Kennel Club morning show we have our share of political types stop by and visit. Joey Durel, Lafayette City Parish President is with us almost every week. Congressmen Charles Boustany and Jeff Landry are regular contributors to our show as well. Senator David Vitter has been known to drop by the studio too.

You might ask why hasn't Mary Landrieu, Barack Obama or Newt Gingrich ever been on the air with us? It is most likely because of our one rule for anybody coming on our show. That rule is this." We get to ask any question we want and you are obligated to answer it or have a darn good explanation why you won't answer it."

For many politicians the threat of having actually answer an honest question, a curve ball question or even a stupid question puts them in a bad light. I personally think it makes the men and women we elect to represent us more human. It also gives "we the people" the opportunity to see and hear how well these people think on their feet and get a glimpse inside their heads as to what makes them tick.

Here is a "video" of a radio interview President Obama recently gave to a radio station in New Mexico. Portions of that interview have now been turned into an advertisement for the Republican party.

Personally I don't think it is fair to take any audio or video out of context. Doing that is essentially telling a lie to the listener and we don't do that.  Your trust is far too  valuable to us here at 97.3 The Dawg. After all we are YOUR radio station, not your elected official we are held to a much higher standard.
