There's always that lingering question that you ask yourself days before a holiday, or the night before. Is trash pickup going to pass on [Insert Holiday].

The reason I decided to write this post is because I went looking to see if trash was going to pass for Memorial Day, and it was much harder than it should be to get the answer to my question. I'm pretty decent at using ye ole Google, and I had to ask the question several different ways, and click on way too many links in order to find the answer.

This Memorial Day, Monday May 29th, 2017, according to the Lafayette Consolidated Government, those in Lafayette Parish with Republic Services will have trash pickup per usual.

All customers served by Republic Services should place waste out the evening before their regularly scheduled collection day. There will be no changes to the residential waste collection schedule due to the Memorial Day holiday.

As far as the hours of the Lafayette Consolidated Government Compost Facility, located at 400 N. Dugas Road, they closed at 11:30AM today (Friday, May 26th). They will reopen tomorrow (Saturday, May 27th) from 7:30AM until 11:30AM. They will be closed Monday, May 29th, 207 in observance of Memorial Day. They will reopen Tuesday, May 30th, 2017.
