A potentially scary incident happened at a Baton Rouge movie theater on Saturday evening after a woman threatened to shoot someone.

Management at the Perkins Rowe theater notified police after 27-year-old Gaynell Haydel walked up to the ticket booth inside the theater repeatedly uttering the phrase, "I'm going to shoot somebody."

Haydel was unprovoked and her threats made moviegoers and employees fear for their safety with some even leaving the theater.

When a deputy from East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office arrived and told Haydel she had to leave the theater she said, "I don't have a gun on me."

The deputy got to her agree to walk outside but she wouldn't give him any identification when asked. He then told her she would be arrested if she didn't comply to which she responded, "You do what you need to do.”

When the deputy tried to place her in handcuffs, she turned to him facing chest-to-chest and said, “Devil Dog, you better stand down,”

She then began to push the deputy, so he “performed an arm-bar take down,” bringing her to the ground and placing her under arrest.

Haydel was taken to the Parish prison and booked on counts of terrorizing, disturbing the peace and resisting an officer.
