Wrestling legend Jerry "The King" Lawler and fiancé, Lauryn McBride, are facing domestic assault charges after being arrested early this morning.

The 66-year-old Lawler and the 27-year-old McBride were booked in the Shelby County Jail in Memphis, Tennessee around 1 a.m. Friday.

According to the affidavit, the two were involved in a violent confrontation at Lawler's Memphis home.

McBride claims Lawler struck her in the head and pushed her against a stove. Lawler, on the other hand, claims McBride scratched him in the face, threw a candle at him and kicked him in the groin.

McBride also alleged that Lawler got an unloaded pistol, put it on the kitchen counter and told her to kill herself.

Lawler claims McBride was intoxicated and she was the one who brought the pistol into the kitchen.

As a result of the altercation, Lawler has been suspended by his current employer, the WWE.

The WWE released the following statement about the incident and subsequent suspension.

WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.

Lawler was previously arrested in 1999 for throwing a ticket at a Memphis police officer and running over his foot.
