For the first time ever, you can purchase your Girl Scout cookies online.

So if you really dislike the joy on a young girl's face after she's sold you 18 boxes of delectable treats, then you should be a happy fella right about now. (Just kidding!)

The Girl Scouts organization released a statement yesterday that they resisted selling online because face-to-face sales were a good learning experience for girls.

But then again, they probably also realized that a ton of money was being left on the table.

If you do buy online, don't worry about not supporting your local Girl Scout troop. Each local region will handle the sales and distribution in their area, so your money will still go to your local Girl Scouts.

The organization is set to launch online sales on December 12. The traditional cookie selling season begins in January.
