How does the Lafayette Consolidated Government improve transportation along with boosting economic opportunity in the University Avenue Corridor?

The Acadiana Planning Commission awarded Lafayette City Parish Government just over $1.5 million back in 2016 for a study and action that will revitalize that area.

A public meeting seeking input will be held at Bridge Ministry on the night of Monday, January 29.

The church is located at 410 Huval Street. The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m.

The area that will see changes is University between Cameron to just past Interstate 10.

Mayor-President Joel Robideaux says,

"The University Corridor is a crucial gateway to our community and is worthy of reinvestment. It is my hope that with renewed focus, we can begin the process of returning this area to its former cultural, social and economic status for those who live, work and travel along the corridor."
