11-year-old Cameron Michael Bailey of Lafayette was killed in a crash yesterday morning in Foley, Alabama.

The accident occurred on the Foley Beach express. Bailey, who was riding in the back seat of a Honda SUV on the driver side, was killed when another vehicle hit his family's vehicle head-on. Five others injured in the incident were taken to a local hospital.

WKRG in Foley reported that a red truck crossed the center line on the highway and struck the vehicle head-on. The police believe the driver of the truck, who was described as an "elderly" person, had some sort of medical emergency that led to the accident.

Cameron was a student at Our Lady of Fatima School in Lafayette where he would have been entering the sixth grade at the school this fall.

His family says, "He was a tender boy who was loved by all who met him, from babies to elderly grown-ups, because he had such a big heart, with the never-ending capacity to love them back. His many friends are a true testament to his title as the family socialite."

Funeral arrangements for Bailey are pending by Martin and Castille Funeral Home.

On behalf of everyone here at 97.3 The Dawg, we'd like to send our most heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the Bailey family. May your angel rest in peace.
