Acadiana School Openings and Closings for Monday, August 22nd

As things slowly get back to some sense of normalcy in Acadiana, here is the list of schools open and closed for Monday, August 22, 2016.

Acadia Parish

All public schools open. Students who are unable to attend classes will be excused.

Evangeline Parish

All public schools open.

Iberia Parish

All public schools open.

Jeff Davis Parish

All public schools open with the exception of those in Lake Arthur. Schools there hope to open on Tuesday but that is yet to be determined.

Lafayette Parish

All public schools open.

St. Landry Parish

All public schools open with the exception of Plaisance Elementary, which will open on Tuesday.

St. Mary Parish

All public schools open.

St. Martin Parish

All public schools open. (Some roadways remain flooded, however, consideration to extenuating circumstances will be given on an individual basis. Flexibility to the school uniform policy will be afforded to students.)

Vermilion Parish

Jesse Owens and Gueydan High School will remain closed Monday, August 22 and Tuesday, August 23. All other schools are open Monday.
