We are three days into the month of February. Already we have had seven reported cases of inappropriate teacher-student relations in 2015. This is a problem that is beyond out of hand. The state currently ranks third behind Alabama and Kentucky in this dubious category.  The latest arrest in such a case came yesterday in Rapides Parish.

The Rapides Parish Sheriffs Department acting on a complaint by the Glenmora Police Department arrested 28 year old Donald Gene Parker III. Parker was charged with one count each of computer aided solicitation of a minor, pornography involving juveniles, and indecent behavior with a juvenile. He was also charged with two counts of obstructing justice and three counts of intimidating a witness.

Authorities say that Parker found out about the complaint and impending arrest and went to the residence of the juvenile and attempted to prevent the family from reporting it to law enforcement. A later search of Parker's home found several pieces of evidence that lead to his arrest.

According to the school's website Parker was a teacher at Glenmora High School. Bond for Parker was set at $327,000.
