A brand, new New Year is almost here! Have you started thinking about what your new year's resolution is going to be? I have been thinking about all of the "resolutions" I have made each new year, and I don't think I have gone through with ANY of them! I think people make their new year's resolutions too difficult, and I have an easy suggestion to help people (and myself) stick to them.

I know some people like to make their new year's resolutions about becoming more health conscious, quitting bad habits, or setting high goals for themselves. Although these are very honorable goals to obtain, I still don't understand why we make our resolutions so big that it soon becomes overwhelming to think about, and then all we want is for that new year to be over with. I think a new year's resolution should be something simple that I can remember and follow by every day.

Instead of a 12 month process, I think new year resolutions can be planned spontaneously. For example, if your goal is to work out more, don't wake up every day thinking about the arduous workout session you have scheduled with your personal trainer. You should plan each work out the way you feel comfortable with. Make it simple. It will be a heck of a lot easier on your poor, little soul if you listen to your body and slowly incorporate a healthy lifestyle that will stick with you.

For those of you who need to quit bad habits... I don't really have any advice except for the old-fashion quit cold turkey. Each new year we are given a clean slate to make changes or new mistakes. Whatever you want your new year's resolution to be, remember that the smallest changes are the ones that are going to be the most advantageous. If you have a Twitter, tweet me @Jilly0827 or @973thedawg and tell us your new year's resolution!

Happy New Year, y'all!
