Bears Hire Saints Exec Ryan Pace As Their New General Manager
The New Orleans Saints have lost their director of pro personnel, Ryan Pace, who was hired by the Chicago Bears today to fill their general manager position.
Current Saints GM Mickey Loomis said Monday he thought Pace was ready to become a GM in the NFL, though he added he hoped Pace would remain with the Saints.
Last season, the Miami Dolphins requested to interview Pace for their then vacant GM position, but the Saints denied the request, as Pace was under contract. His contract with the Saints expired at the end of the season.
Pace spent 14 years with New Orleans.
One of his first tasks in Chicago will be hiring a new head coach. The Bears fired coach Marc Trestman, offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer, and GM Phil Emery 10 days ago.
