A dear friend of mine in the sports broadcasting business told me one of the most beautiful sites he gets to see every other year is the site of Troy Alabama fading away in his rear view mirror.

Nothing against the good people of Troy but it is kind of like Jonesboro Arkansas without the glitter. (That is what you call sarcasm folks). Last night Coach Mark Hudspeth's team game hundreds of Cajun supporters a reason to be in Troy Alabama and an even better to drive away happy.

The Cajuns bested the Trojans by a final score of 37-24. It wasn't the offense that could claim the lions share of the victory though. The Cajun defense stepped up big time creating three turnovers and they stopped Troy cold on two fourth down attempts.

The offense did have it's moments and it's scary moments too. The Cajun offense seemed to click quite nicely under the guidance of Senior Blaine Gautier. Gautier engineered two touchdown drives but was forced from the game by injury on a play that saw him score his 10th career touchdown.

Back up quarterback Terrence Broadway took over for the injured Gautier and played very well himself, completing 10-of-16 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown while also rushing eight times for 43 yards. Up next for the Cajuns a trip to Stillwater Oklahoma and the nationally ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys.
