College Auctioned Off Pig at Halftime of Men’s Basketball Game

The Lafayette Parish 4H/FFA Livestock Show & Sale was this past weekend at Blackham Coliseum. There, you would expect pigs to be auctioned off.

At halftime of a college basketball game, not so much.

Last night, South Dakota State hosted the University of Denver in a men's basketball game. The two teams must not be doing that great, because the most noteworthy moment of the game happened during halftime.

The university based in Brookings, South Dakota decided it would be a great idea to raise some funds by auctioning off a big ole swine at halftime.

By the way, it fetched a whooping $2,250!

Must have been exactly what the Jackrabbits needed as they ended up pummeling Denver 69-39. Pig power!
