Each June, Louisiana Folk Roots presents a Cajun & Creole Summer Camp for Kids at the historic and beautiful Vermilionville. Brazos Huval of Grammy-nominated Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys, Dave Trainer of The Nouveau String Band, zydeco bandleader Corey "Lil' Pop" Ledet, and Yvette Landry of Bonsoir, Catin are just a few of the outstanding Cajun and Creole multi-instrumentalists, educators and guest presenters we'll have on hand.
Kids camp is open to ages 8-14 and all campers need to bring is a guitar, tuned-down fiddle, or a 10-button diatonic accordion in the key of C. The days will be filled with fun, music, band labs, singing, dancing, cuisine, and other great educational activities. For more information click here.
