Join other artists at Shadows on the Teche for the 5th Annual Paint Out. Bring your art for the competition to be judged by Morgan Samual Price. Participation in the Paint Out is free, but registration is required. All participants are to check-in at the Shadows Visitor Center prior to painting in order to complete a registration form and have their canvas stamped with the official Shadows-on-the-Teche Plein Air stamp. The Shadows-on-the-Teche Plein Air Painting Competition will take place March 9 - 16. The schedule is as follows:
- Wed., March 13, Price will provide a free public program on Plein Air painting at the Shadows Visitor Center at 7:30 p.m.
- Thurs., March 14, Price will lead a painting demonstration at 2 p.m. near the Shadows.
- Fri., March 15, award winners will be announced, and all artwork completed over the week will be available for sale.
- Sat., March 16, the competition will culminate with a Quick Draw competition in the morning. Competitors will have two hours to complete a painting in downtown New Iberia. Works will be judged, awarded ribbons and prizes, and available for sale off the easel. Participation in the Quick Draw is open to all artists for a fee of $10.
