Has The New Orleans Pelicans Logo Leaked?

The New Orleans Hornets are supposed to officially become The New Orleans Pelicans today, and this could possibly be the new team logo that has leaked. After checking on Twitter, it seems most people don’t understand the historical significance of The Pelicans. For those of you who may not know, the New Orleans Pelicans were a minor league baseball team in New Orleans in the 1930′s and 1940′s. They were a feeder team for the Indians. I only know this because my Grandfather, Bill “Lefty” Perrin pitched for the Pelicans, and eventually got called up to the Indians for a few seasons.

That being said, I was, and am excited about The Hornets becoming The Pelicans. I will definitely be picking up some Pelicans gear as soon as it becomes available. It seems, this could quite possibly be the new logo for the team. What do you think?
