When Carrie Underwood isn't busy prepping for her new gig as an American Idol judge or playing shows as part of her Las Vegas residency, she's living off the land.

When the "Before He Cheats" singer gets downtime at home, she's doing a different kind of work, like growing melons in her garden — or going on foraging walks, apparently.

You'll Be Shocked What Kind of Mushrooms Carrie Underwood Ate

One thing her fans love about the country star is that she keeps it real, doing the same day-to-day things she grew up doing as a kid in Oklahoma.

It might shock some people to see a celebrity worth millions of dollars eat something she found on a walk, but Underwood knew her recent find was worth sharing with the world and her 13 million Instagram followers.

On Instagram Stories, Underwood showed off the "free food" she found while on a walk: Wild mushrooms!

The "Blown Away" singer not only bent over and picked these road mushrooms barehanded, she presumably took them home and ate them.

In recent years, Underwood has proudly shown off her growing skills with a beautiful garden — she even hosts canning parties — so it's not too shocking she can recognize the right kind of mushrooms for healthy eating habits. Surely she knows them from the poisonous ones, right?

Hopefully.

Look for Underwood to appear on Season 23 of American Idol in early 2025. She also just released a new collab with rockers Papa Roach.

Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, owned a 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 2-half-bathroom home in an affluent Nashville suburb called Brentwood. The 7,000-square-foot mansion features a wet bar, fitness center and tennis court, as well as a four-car garage, walk-out basement with heated marble floors and extra appliances, including a sub-zero fridge and wine fridge. That house is where Underwood suffered a devastating fall in 2017.

The couple sold the luxurious home for $1,410,000 in March of 2019, after they moved into the massive dream home that they had spent several years building from scratch.
