Morgan Wallen put his money where his mouth is. Less than a day after pledging to help flood-ravaged areas of east Tennessee and western North Carolina, the singer sent a very large check to the American Red Cross.

Per Billboard, Wallen made a $500,000 donation.

"Those hills and hollers are very important to me in so many ways," he wrote. "It's going to take a monumental effort."

  • More than 90 people were killed by Hurricane Helene as it worked from Florida up through Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.
  • A representative with Buncombe County (Asheville, N.C.) Emergency Services described the flooding as "biblical."
  • Ten inches of rain fell in eastern Tennessee and Virginia. Up to 30 inches may have fallen in western North Carolina.

Luke Combs is another artist who has pledged help. Eric Church, Chase Rice and Chris Lane are three more native North Carolinians who have pledged help in some kind of way.

"To all the families and first responders, you are in our prayers and we are doing everything we can to get you the help you need now," Church writes on X.

It will take quite a long time before the full effects of the storm are know. News Channel 5 in Nashville shares that three are dead and 100 are missing in Tennessee.

USA Today shares that 1,000 people were missing in Buncombe County and two million people are without power in the area.
