Sunday Rose Urban Says People in Her World Don’t Know She Has a Famous Family
Sunday Rose Urban's parents, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, are superstars in different fields of entertainment — but she says she's still able to introduce herself to people on her own terms.
In a new interview with Nylon, the 16-year-old budding fashion model reveals that many in her circle meet her without knowing who her parents are.
"When people my age meet me, they normally don't know anything about my life," Sunday Rose says.
"Which is sort of wonderful," she continues, "because I am able to make a first impression based on who I am and not who my family is."
- Sunday Rose Urban started a professional runway model career last fall.
- She's since expanded into magazine modeling.
- She is still in school, though the modeling bug seems to have bitten her for good: In March, Sunday said she's always practicing her runway walk, even in the hallways at her high school.

But before she started modeling work, Sunday and her younger sister, Faith Margaret, led a life that was almost completely out of the spotlight.
And while she didn't directly credit her parents for her ability to present herself to people now on her own terms, it makes sense that Sunday's circle doesn't associate her with her famous family because they never shared their young kids' lives with the public.
Keith Urban + Nicole Kidman's Private Family Life
Urban and Kidman themselves have been famous for decades, but they spent years making sure their two young daughters were never in the public eye.
Photos of Faith and Sunday as children were few and far between, and they never appeared at industry events with their parents.
In 2017, speaking to Vogue, Kidman explained that that was an intentional choice.
"I'm protective of their identities and don't want them exposed early on," she said at the time.
But she added that when the cameras weren't rolling, the family was always together. "In our private life, they're always involved with us," she continued.

Two years later, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Kidman said that she and Urban had strict rules for their daughters' social media usage, too.
"They don't have a phone and I don't allow them to have an Instagram. I try to keep some sort of boundaries," she said at the time, when the girls were eight and 10 years old.
A Normal Life as a Teen in Nashville
Elsewhere in her Nylon interview, Sunday shared some glimpses into her life when she's not modeling — and, well, it sounds like she's a typical teen.
"My favorite thing to do is drive in my car listening to music," she says. "It's really relaxing and helps me think."
She also spoke about her favorite musical artists — Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean and Lady Gaga — and said that she and her younger sister Faith often trade "random" Instagram reels, "mostly cats," throughout the day.
