Louisiana Bracing For Much Needed Rain This Week
South Louisiana needs the rain and we may finally see water coming from the sky this week as we prepare for Halloween.
It has been weeks since the state has gotten any rain and it is so dry in some parts of Louisiana that local officials have issued "Burn Bans" once again to prevent fires from spreading rapidly.
So, when will it rain again in Louisiana? Well, the good news is we finally have a chance of rain in the extended forecast for Halloween week., but the bad news is the rain may move in as kids prepare to knock on doors for Trick or Treating.
According to KATC's extended forecast, we have about a 50% chance of rain on Thursday, on Halloween night, and showers could linger into the end of the week and into next weekend.
If you've put away the umbrellas and rain gear due to this moderate drought we've been in, you may want to retrieve the rain gear as we start the new week because it does appear that water will once again fall from the sky.
Look, I know we live in an instant gratification society these days so I'll say it here, does it have to rain on Halloween/ Yes, I KNOW we need the rain, but can't it hold off until Friday?
Perhaps we can take out the remote control and hit pause on Thursday in the weather world, then resume things above by Friday. Until then, keep watering the lawn like its mid-summer and get your candy ready for Trick or Treating because I don't see a few showers stopping the ghosts and goblins.
Here's the forecast from Acadiana's Weather Experts at KATC TV-3.
For those who've always wanted to see a true rain dance, here's a tradition used by Native Americans to bring on the rain.
