(New Iberia, Louisiana) - A new nightclub in New Iberia is having to address an Artificial Intelligence photo that is going around on social media.

Backroads Social Nightclub in Iberia Parish is addressing a photo of women on its dance floor in bikinis and high heels, but the issue is that no women were ever dressed that way in the club.

A local band was performing a soundcheck when the photo was taken of the dance floor, and then later, ladies referenced as "strippers" were added to the photo to make it appear the club had women in it dressed as described above.

The AI-generated photo, which some thought was real, was brought to the attention of the Iberia Parish Council, and Justin Champagne, owner of the new club, is reassuring the council and the public that "strippers" were not in attendance last weekend while the band soundchecked.

Champagne posted on social media:

"If we REALLY had strippers, trust me you wouldn’t just have one bootleg AI photo… you’d have about 37 videos from 14 different angles from Snapchats, facebook lives, tik toks, ring camera footage, and maybe even a drone shot..
So everybody just calm down."

This is another good reminder to be very careful what you read and share on social media. In 2025, it is very easy to alter or manipulate a photo, and if you aren't careful, you could mislead someone with a single button press on social media.

It is also a good habit to check the publication date before sharing a story or photo; people share information from the past that others interpret as new happenings, which can be misleading.
