Attempted ATM Robbery at Louisiana Bank

A huge police presence was reported at the Community First Bank in Youngsville, Louisiana on Thursday morning.

Listeners reported seeing police and other people in the bank at 5 am, while many of the lights were on during closed business hours.

According to Youngsville Police Chief Cody Louviere, someone attempted to break into the ATM at the bank early Thursday morning, but the would-be thieves did not get away with anything.

In recent years we've seen a rash of ATM robberies and now many of the machines are equipped with devices to alert police when there's an unexpected motion near the machine.

The attempted robbery happened at the bank in Youngsville located at Milton Avenue and Chemin Metairie Road.

Police do not have suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing. We'll continue to follow this story and provide more information here as it becomes available.
