Authorities in Jeanerette have issued an urgent alert to residents on Bert Street, Guiberteau Street, and Frank Street, urging them to remain inside their homes due to an active crime scene in the area.

According to a press release from the Jeanerette Police Department, these streets are currently closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic as officers work the scene. Law enforcement has not yet released details about the nature of the incident, but they are advising residents to stay indoors until further notice for their safety.
