The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a Lafayette man after he allegedly exploited an infirmed person totaling over $500,000 in theft.

Gregory T. Red, 62, was arrested on a slew of charges that include:

  • Exploitation of Person with Infirmities
  • Mortgage Fraud
  • Credit Card Fraud by Person Authorized to Provide Goods and Services
  • Theft in Excess of $500,000

KLFY is reporting the arrest was made after a warrant was issued for Red's arrest yesterday.

Very few other details are known about the accusations at this time. We'll follow this developing story and pass along new information when more details are made public by authorities.
