Lafayette Police Investigating Homicide Following Shooting Inside Local Business

A tragic incident unfolded Saturday morning in Lafayette as a shooting inside a local business claimed one life and left another person injured. Around 9:18 a.m., the Lafayette Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting multiple gunshots at a business in the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers on the scene immediately administered life-saving medical aid to the victims. One victim was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment, while the second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Lafayette Police Criminal Investigations Division, along with Crime Scene detectives, are currently investigating the incident. Authorities have not released the names of the victims or provided details regarding potential suspects as the investigation remains ongoing.
