
Police Announce Speed Limit Change on Major Youngsville Roadway, Effective Immediately
Drivers in Youngsville should take note of a major change on Highway 89, also known as Youngsville Highway. The Youngsville Police Department has announced that the speed limit within city limits, starting near Heart D Farm Road, has been reduced from 50 mph to 40 mph. The change is effective immediately and aims to improve traffic safety in this rapidly growing area of Lafayette Parish.
In addition, there is an active construction zone near Fortune Road where the speed limit remains at 35 mph.
“These changes are part of our ongoing commitment to public safety,” said Youngsville Police Chief Jean Paul Broussard. “With Youngsville's continued growth, it’s crucial that we adapt our traffic safety measures accordingly.”
Motorists traveling through the area are advised to stay alert to the changes, as the Youngsville Police Department will be closely monitoring compliance with the new speed limits.
