If you were going to invite strangers to come visit us in Louisiana what would be the first thing you'd mention? Is it the food? Is it the music? Is it the joie de vivre? Most of us would probably mention all of those things because there is  so much to be proud of when we talk of this amazing place we call home.

Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is tasked with the responsibility of selling Louisiana throughout the country and through out the world. Part of his job responsibility is to make sure that other people in other place know about our state and encouraged to come visit us. Tourism is big business and big money in our state.

Dardenne's office has just unveiled their next round of advertisements which will be used to cultivate tourism in our state. Following along the lines of the " Pick Your Passion" campaign this new spate of ads will focus on Louisiana culture. Early advertisements featured focused on our states incredible music.

Dardenne's office says advertisements will run in selected markets by the beginning of 2015. Among the cities where potential visitors will be courted include Memphis, Denver, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Chicago, and Atlanta. If the new advertisements are as effective as the earlier ones then our state should have another great year of welcoming new friends from out of town. Whatever we're doing seems to be working, current statistics show that tourism is up 7.6% so far in 2014.
