The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced road closures that will begin Monday for Lafayette and Broussard.

A project to install girders to the Evangeline Thruway overpass at La. 182 will affect traffic both over and under the roadway. Heavy delays and traffic detours are expected to affect motorists' commute to and from Lafayette in the Broussard area. First, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures along the Thruway beginning Monday, Nov. 9 through Wednesday, Nov. 25. The construction will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly.

Under the overpass, La. Highway 182 will be intermittently closed from Wednesday, Nov. 11 through Wednesday, Nov. 25. These closures will also take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly.

Another project beginning Monday is the widening of Hugh Wallis Road (La. 728-2) south of Kaliste Saloom Road. The project being completed by the Lafayette Consolidated Government is estimated to take place over the next two months, weather permitting.
