The City-Parish Council will debate an ordinance tonight that would ban electric scooter rentals and use until further notice.

A plan that includes a pause in operations has been reached between Mayor-President Joel Robideaux and company representatives from Bird and Lime scooter companies as it relates to the scooters that have been used in Lafayette.

It seems like every Lafayette corner is occupied by a flock of Bird and Lime Scooters, and now a new law regulating the new rides may be on the way.
