If you didn't know, this Sunday is National Ice Cream Day. To celebrate, Blue Bell Ice Cream has announced a brand spankin' new flavor that looks and sounds pretty dang great.
The ice cream giant is recalling select lots of Rocky Road pint packages that were mistakenly filled with Cookies 'n Cream at its flagship Brenham, Texas plant.
Blue Bell underwent an extensive cleaning and decontamination process at its two Texas plants and its plants in Alabama and Oklahoma after listeria contamination was blamed for illnesses in four states, including three deaths in Kansas.
Blue Bell Ice Cream could be back on shelves soon, as the first batches are being made, and evaluated for product safety, after a recall earlier this year.
The company is continuing to search for answers to the listeria outbreak that has killed three and sent five to the hospital. What is next for Blue Bell after the products return to our shelves?
