Over three years ago, I wrote a story here on our website about some funny Cajun words and phrases. They were basically French words we use that give us a good chuckle in the way they sound or the meaning behind them.

If you've lived in south Louisiana for any amount of time more than a hot minute, you know we have our own way of talking. And I'm not just talking about our accent, I'm talking about the way we butcher the modern English language.

I started thinking about all the Cajun words and phrases that I hear that are funny to hear. We asked you and here are the five that I got the most. Hope you enjoy them mes amis!

Sometimes we forget how difficult it is for outsiders to speak, or even UNDERSTAND cajun words!
