I've been in and out of the country music format for more years than I care to admit. I'm also a devoted listener to Classic Country Saturday Night. I "like" the CCSNLA Facebook page so I can follow along and see what people are requesting. I've been known to make a request or four myself from time to time...

A prerequisite for being a radio personality is that you like music. There are actually songs that have me hitting "seek" really quickly.

Lately there have been some amazing new County tunes coming out that would slide right in on Saturday nights. Many of these new songs are from artists right here in Acadiana. So, just for fun, here are six new songs I think could be included in "Classic Country Saturday Night".

Here's a little classic country history for Classic Country Saturday Night

For those of us who won't be attending the Garth Brooks concerts in New Orleans tonight (as we all sigh together), we have a little show I like to call Classic Country Saturday Night to get us through. If missing Garth Brooks isn't a reason to drink a few, I'm not sure what is.

While we get ourselves prepped for Classic Country Saturday Night, let's take a second and see how our favorite stars were celebrating the Independence Day holiday.

Today may have started off a little gloomy, but it is a perfect night for some classic country. As we get ready for Acadiana's Largest Cocktail Party, let's keep the tradition going and hope in the country music time machine!

It has been quite the gloomy day here in Acadiana, but that won't stop the Classic Country Saturday Night party! The country music time machine is fired up and ready to go.

Our favorite country superstars created some great country music that we have come to love. Their hits have also sparked great milestones in their lives and I think we should shed some light on them as well.
