It was my great pleasure yesterday to represent 97.3 The Dawg and help present Second Harvest Food Bank of Acadiana a check for $1,276.43.

You may have heard us in the month of December giving away gift cards to one of Lafayette's finest car washes, Classic Auto Spa on Johnston St. at Camellia Blvd. The greater purpose was to promote their December fundraiser to help out Faith House.

We're just four days away from Christmas and a lot of us will be frantically running around trying to scoop up last minute presents. How much thought will really go into each of these gifts? Are we just going to cave in and get a gift card or the old standby, pajamas?!

Another great story for the holidays. Former State Representative Clara Baudoin has donated her campaign war chest to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
