When you watch the video you see what appears to be little hands making paint marks on the paper. There is never a really clear picture of the kid actually putting his hands in the paint and then putting them to the paper. I think this is just some slick video editing done by a father who is probably upset he didn't think of the whole balloon boy fiasco from a year or so ago.
