Louisiana residents may have noticed an alarming increase in the mosquito population lately, coupled with a growing feeling that their usual methods of mosquito control are less effective than before.

The weather in Louisiana will start to heat up in a few months and you know what that means—mosquitos.

My skin is itching just watching this.

Louisiana has four entries on the list, and we aren't surprised

The Lafayette Consolidated Government has issued a press release to let citizens know that the U.S. Air Force's 910th Airlift Wing is expected to complete their spraying mission on October 29, 2020.

Louisiana is currently in the season we never wanted to be a part of, West Nile Season, and Louisiana’s Department of Health reports nine cases so far and five of those have caused dangerous infections.

Anything to help get rid of those pesky mosquitoes is ok in my book.

Although the recent Louisiana floods have actually helped decrease our mosquito population, the Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed three additional cases of the Zika virus.

The three new cases are all dangerous infections of the brain or spinal cord, called neuroinvasive disease. Two are in Lafayette Parish and one in Ouachita Parish.

Department of Health and Hospitals State Epidemiologist Dr. Raoult Ratard recently spoke about the disease on "Your Afternoon Drive Home."
