Significant amounts of rain and even some thunder rumbled through the heart of Acadiana during the nighttime hours but for the most part the temperatures have remained above the freezing mark.
Winter travel troubles should stay north of Acadiana this time around. However, be sure to check out the road conditions before you head toward Alexandria or Shreveport this morning.
Colder weather and the possibility of another freezing rain or snow event is in the forecast. Here is what you need to know and when we think the temperatures will fall.
Look for a gradual return to normalcy later this morning and into the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to be well above freezing by midday. Authorities will begin to reopen bridges and overpasses as soon as they are deemed to be safe for travel. As of 6am Saturday morning, all that was closed, remains closed.
