As St. Martin Parish prepares for rising waters due to heavy rains and flooding north of it, the sheriff's office announces extended sand bag distribution hours.
Lance Burgos was kayaking at Lake Fausse Point in St Martinville this past Saturday with his young passenger when they happened upon some catfish noodles. Burgos figured he'd check to see if anything was on the line, and boy was there, and it definitely was not catfish!
This year's parade permit was revoked because Police Chief Calder Hebert determined the city would need at least $200,000 for barricades and police security.
